TAJ,

if I try this method for a 6-slides-on-1-page handout, I don't get the SLIDE
no. nest to the slide, but the handout page no. - what am I doing wrong?

Julie,

The method I chose recently: Insert page no. on slide master, use a fairly
large font. Font color = background color. Check b/w settings, so that it
prints black.

Restrictions: 1. This only works with slides with a single background color
or slight gradient only, difficult with photo/pattern backgrounds. 2. It
only works if you print b/w handouts.

If you need a patterned background or color handouts, you should insert the
page no. shortly before printing and drag it off the slide (into the grey
area around it) for presenting.

Kind regards,
Ute

Sorry, I re-read the question.....Julie *was* after slide numbers....so
putting the "insert slide number" on the slide master and "not" the notes
master is the correct answer.
