Slide Master

I want to change the format of all my master slides. When I change the slide master to the desired settings, the presentation does change to these settings. eg. I go to View>Master>Slide Master. Change the font in my title textbox to Arial size 40 Black text color. Then I select Close Master View. But the slides do not reflect this change. Is there a way to apply this change to all the slides? Shouldn't the change be applied automatically?
 
Yes rich, any slide that has not been altered from the size of your original
template will now reflect the changes. But if you have resized or changed
anything on this page...the template has been overided.
