Slide format issues

I'm trying to create one new 'master' file that contains
slides from several source files. I need to know how I can
retain the unique slide formats from each source file that
is inserted into the new 'master' file.

PowerPoint version is 2000.

Since you don't tell us which version of PPT you're using, it's hard to
offer specific information. So, check the multiple masters page of my
site for information on how to do this in the various versions.
