Certain slides will not go to the next slide unless I
double click when the presentation is running. Under
slide transitions, all slides are programmed to
tranisition to the next slide automatically after 3
seconds. This only happens when a new audio file is
introduced. I've tried looking @
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ and all possible
solutions have not helped. HELP! (PowerPoint 2002)

Cydney,

This sounds like your audio file is waiting for a mouse click before continuing the presentation.

You need to set your sound clip to "continue show" in the "custom animation" menu

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -

Hello,

This is a known issue. The workaround is to apply the "Continue slide show"
setting to inserted sound objects using the legacy Custom Animation dialog
(not the Custom Animation pane).

To get to the Custom Animation dialog you must first disable the new
animation features in PowerPoint 2002 and 2003:

1) Tools -> Options
2) Switch to "Edit" tab
3) Check the "New animation effects" under the "Disable new features" group
and
4) Click OK

To apply the "Continue slide show" setting, repeat the following for each
sound object that you want to behave this way:

1) Select sound object
2) Slide Show -> Custom Animation
3) Switch to "Multimedia setting" tabl of the dialog,
4) Check the "Continue slide show" option and
5) Click OK

Once you are done, you can re-enable the advance animation features:

1) Tools -> Options
2) Switch to "Edit" tab
3) UN-Check the "New animation effects" under the "Disable new features"
group and
4) Click OK

Hello,
Thank you, this solution worked to advance the slides as
the correct transition time. However, now, it will not
allow my to start the music clip at the given time. (For
example. I want to start playing a song 2:01 in the
actual track.) But when I switch back to that, the same
problem arises where the slides don't change. Is there a
way where I can the best of both worlds? Help! Thanks!
