Put the computer to sleep for the night with the power icon button.
Wake the computer up the next day with the Real (tm) power button.
Sign on.
Everything else functional (IE, Media player...) The Gadget clock and
Weather still show last nights values.
I had to logout, then log back on before they woke up.

Same problem here (see post, "Sidebar gadgets stop working")

It seems like we're the only ones . . .

On mine though, it happens whenever I close the sidebar (not end the
program, just hide it to the tray) and when UAC pops up, dimming the screen.

I ended up turning the sidebar off, posted a bug report too.

I just closed the sidebar, waited 15 minutes.
Opened Sidebar Clock is current.

By any chance, do you also happen to have Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05
installed?

Nope, at the moment NO version of Java is installed. I'll install it when I
need it, I'm that kind of guy. :-)

I downloaded a couple of third-party gadgets and they seem to "wake up" just
fine, while slide-show, CPU meter and the clock just freeze up on me.
