My Master is a 13G Samsung and I just added a 80G HD to the same Primary
cable and set it to slave. Setup fine in BIOS but XP Pro doesn't see it in
My Computer or Win Explorer so I can't format or partition it. Does show in
Device Manager as O-K. Seems like XP should have assigned a drive letter
but didn't.
I don't care to put another Win OS just to get it formated. Just want to
use it to put extra programs on and lots of photo files.
Am I missing something simple? I've added other drives without probs but
never a 2nd HD.
Help will be appeciated.

Aha! To partition it you need to find Administrative Tools -> Computer
Management -> Disk Management

(At least , thats where it is on Win2K Server)

You won't get it to appear in Windows Explorer unless you have partitioned
it and assigned it a drive letter. You can do all this from Disk
Management...

If you are just putting media on there, then one primary partition will
likely suffice.
