Hi

At work we are setting up a new IBM computer. It has a CD burner, 1 Western
digital HD and a Maxtor HD. and XP Pro set to ncis file system.

When we originally set it up all was recognized and worked fine. We ran out
of time and shut it down for the day. Today upon restart all works but XP
doesn't recognize the Maxtor drive. However Bios does.

What happens is it starts to boot then errors saying either no boot drive
found or a cable error. If I unplug the Maxtor drive it will boot ok.

I have tried changing the cable and removing the Western Digital and booting
of the Maxtor with no luck.

I double checked the jumpers and the Maxtor is set to slave. The Maxtor
drive has Win 98 with fat 32 which was operating fine when removed from the
old machine

Any suggestions appreciated.

Look on the WD drives jumpers. It must be set to "master
with slave present" it is probebly set to "singel or
master".
