does anyone know the steps i have to take to set up a slave
drive on XP home addition.....especially the hook ups and
what wires have to go where
Thanks in advance,
Chris.

You have to set the jumpers on the back of the drives. Your Master drive
should have the jumper set on MA (master) and the slave drive set to SL
(slave) if you have both drives attached to the same cable. If you have two
IDE interfaces (primary and secondary) you can have both drives connected
with their own cable, with both drives set to Master. Your first drive is
connected to the primary interface, and your added drive connected to the
secondary interface. Of course, both drives have to have the four pin power
connector plugged in.

many people know how to do it.

You can look up and see pictures on PC World's webpages
because they did an article in the magazine before.
www.pcworld.com Or do a Google for "install hard drive"
and you'll get a ton of article links.

When you buy a drive or go to a drive mfg'r website you will
find instructions.
