Im going to be making my own computer and I just have a
quick question I have modified computer before but never
with a XP(OS) I have done Windows 98 and thats just about
it.

For XP does it follow the same procedure or is there a new
easier setup with XP.

Or do I follow the same basic Setup as the 98.

If its not the same can you please point me to a guide or
a quick walkthough.

And if its just the same tell me and ill be set.

Since XP is alot more expensive I dont wan t to mess up
the drives or the computer.

The difference between installing 98 and XP is that the XP CD is bootable
and all options are given to you from there.

I just installed a second hard drive in my brother's XP. It was the hard
drive from his old Win98 computer. This drive had jumpers and I set the
jumpers to slave, hooked it up and turned it on. Win XP found the drive
right off and named it, and all was well. Not sure if newer hard drives
have a slave jumper. If not, I can't tell you other than try it. It it
doesn't see the drive, nothing is lost. If it is a new drive, it should
have instructions and possibly a startup floppy.
