Just installed a Western digital WD160JB (160 gig) drive as a slave to
the 200 gig one. The 160 drive doesn't show up in My Computer. So I
don't know how to access the drive. The computer hardware lists the
drive as being installed and not having any problems. both drives are
listed in the bios as master and slave on IDE channel 0. The primary
drive shows in My Computer and is operational, it is the other drive
that doesn't show. I ran the WD diagnostic and both drives "passed."
Any ideas on how I can access the drive?

Thanks, Bill

Did you partition it and format it?

It was a drive I was using as an external drive. I decided to use it
internally. It was partitioned and has data on it. I haven't haven't
done anything to the dirve or the pc other than intalling the drive in
the pc and hooking up the wiring.

You could try checking in disk management, perhaps it needs a drive
letter assigned.

What device were you using as your extrnal drive, for instance the netgear
sc101 uses a completly different filing system that is unreadable and will
not show a partion in Windows
