Slave ATA device won't use DMA

I'm developing a system that uses CF drives in IDE mode. The compact flash
drives support MultiWord DMA 2, but I cannot get XPe to use DMA with the
slave device. I've checked the registry settings that are associated with
the transfer mode, but they seem OK. I've been through the BIOS and can see
that both devices report MultiWord DMA 2 as support. How can I figure out
why XPe isn't allowing the slave device to transfer using DMA.

Hello Brent,
I had a similar behavior because my IDE-CF adapter was not UDMA capable and
the CF was set only the PIO transfer mode.
I changed the adapter and solved. Try this link to have more suggestions
