Hi,

I have sky broadband on both my main PC and my laptop. I havent had any problems with my desktop. However my lap top is currently not fully protected. I've managed to narrow it down to the fact that "the signature file is more than 30 days old". I have gone on the protected status and to "fix", this then brings up "no updates available". I have looked about on Mcafee and have no idea how i can check this, therefore my "computer and files and email and IM" are unprotected. :wall:

Is there anyone who knows how to get me back to being fully protected??

Could you please let me know without jargon as I'm not too techie!

Thanks

Is the license still current? That sort of thing happens when the license has expired (i.e. there are no new updates that you are able to download), but the protection continues using the most recent signatures before it expired.

Yes the license is still current, it isnt a free trail or anything. It is to be used on any pc that I use my sky broadbad with.

Hello Jiggly!

Welcome to PCReview..

I've had similar issues with McAfee.
Go here - http://download.mcafee.com/us/updates/superDat.asp?real=0

That puts you up to date :)

Now-make sure you don't have any of the McAfee processes blocked from accessing the internet - XP Firewall? McAfee Firewall? ZoneLabs Firewall?

It's also worth looking at getting the latest product patch for your AV - but you haven't stated exactly which one it is, so I can't advise at this point.

Good Luck!
