Skipping Music

I have the latest upgrade of Media Player, I have over
70GB of free hard disk, 512MB RAM, 125MB VRam and 2.8Ghz
processor.

My music keeps skipping, as if im running lots of other
things in the background. I am not though, even with
nothing else running it still skips.

It skips with MP3s and CDs,

Please help as it is very annoying.

Do you have on-board sound? Perhaps you should invest in a soundcard.
