Does anyone know how I can skip having to enter a user ID
and password when starting up Windows?

Thanks!

Go to Start > Run and type: control userpasswords2 , and hit enter.

Tyson,

You posted this question to the Security and Admin group, so it would be
negligent for at least someone not to advise you that doing this seriously
weakens the security of your PC.
If you have you PC set to auto login then it will start and login as you and
run whatever may be set to run in Start-up groups, login scripts, Run keys
in the registry etc.
It then leaves you account logged in and active.
All of this leaves your PC open to a number of issues.
It also means that if you need to login with another account; such as the
real administrator - too late! you have already stared your PC and logged in
with another possibly compromised account, logging out and then logging in
is not good enough, the damage may have already been done.

All of this is moot IF you Pc is just a stand alone device , not connected
to a network and has no access to the Internet by any means. Otherwise
reconsider what you are about to do.
