I would like to use skins with Microsoft Access Front End
databases. The controls, such as combobox, textbox, etc.
come from Microsoft Forms 2.0 Library I think. They do
seem to be different than the VB Controls, but not in
functionality.
The controls in VB are quite lame compared to ms-access. The controls in
ms-access ARE SUBSTANTIALLY more complex, more capable, and have way more
events and properties. As a result, the controls in ms-access have a much
steeper learning curve to use (you need a lot more training to learn and
master the ms-access controls). However, once that steeper learning curve is
mastered...then development time drops substantiality as compared to the
same vb controls..
Anyway...I don't know any "skins" product. You can certainly create forms
with the "wizard". You can also change/set the "theme" of a existing form by
going format->autoformat while in design mode).
I tend to avoid lots of colors, and especially graphics in a form. The day
you start to use remote desktop you will regret the use of colors and
graphics! (your applction will run slow, and will look like crap as remote
does NOT send the full color platte)
Here is some screen shots...and none use a bunch of colors or themes:
