I have a Athlon FX-53 chip on my SK8V mobo.

I wanted it to run cooler , so I bought a Thermalright XP-90 heatsink and the
recommended Panaflow 90mm fan. When I plug in the fan to the "cpu fan" pins on the
mobo , the fan runs. When I boot , I get a CPU FAN ERROR at boot time , I press F1
and it continues.

Is there a better fan for this mobo ? What fans are compatiblewith the Q-FAN
technology said to be integrated ?

Thanks

Could be that the fan either runs too slow for the motherboard to be
happy or hasn't gotten up to full speed by the time it checks the fan
status. You could look and see if the CPU fan speed threshold is
adjustable in the BIOS..
