Is anyone having any trouble with this motherboard and an Athlon 64 FX-51.

I'm now on my 2nd PC and the same problem is beginning to occur in that the
PC doesn't start up once the power button is pressed. To happen in 2
different machines does suggest that there is a problem with this setup.

Appreciate any comments anyone would like to make?

Running fine in my own system.
Have seen a similar behaviour with a SK8N, and an Opteron in another
machine. Turned out to be a poor connection for logic signal that switches
on the power supply, on the ATX connector. Did the same thing with two
identical PSU's. Changed the version of the PSU, and it worked fine. Latter
tried tightening the power-on pin on the other supplies, and they then
worked fine.
The supplies worked fine without this, when powering a Tyan motherboard.
Suggests that Asus, may use a slightly smaller pin that is causing the
problem.
