My Home Page for Internet Explorer and Netscape as well as
many Microsoft web pages occupies only part of the monitor
screen - there is a large white space on the right side.
How can I get the pages to fill the screen?

It depends on how the page was written. Some author's will create a page
that is scalable for any size monitor. Others will set the page to display
best at 800x600 causing the large white space that you've describe on a
larger monitor.

If you're handy writing CSS files, you can use it to override a page's
style of presentation. See Internet Options> Accessibility for the setting
where you can put your own style sheet into effect.
