Hello, I use a recording software (Camtasia 5) to record my Powerpoint
presentation so that I can deliver it through Flash and DVD with additional
features from the recording program.

I have my slides sized to 7.5" x 5", but when I go into presentation mode,
it automatically scales it up. The way my recording program works is that it
can automatically select a portion of a window. So it can automatically
select the presentation window, but then it would be also recording black
bars on the side due to the scaling. I'd like to record it at exactly 100%
size, how can I do this?

You need to set the 'desktop' to the resolution (and proportion) that you
need... as powerpoint will generally 'fill' the screen once you show it as a
slideshow.

Chances are your graphics card can be set to either

720x480

or 720x576

both of these are good settings for DVD creation.

right click a blank area of your desktop

choose "properties" > "settings" > Advanced

then 'adapter' -> click "list all modes" - scroll to the top

your should see those dvd resolutions
