My task bar at the bottom of the screen has suddenly become larger. How do I shrink it down to normal size

Thanks!

Sharon, just place the cursor arrow on the edge and when it changes to two
arrows then drag it down to the size you want
it. Once you have the desired size then rt click on taskbar and click Lock
the Taskbar

Rich, I tried it but the bar didn't move when I dragged it down.

Sharon, you must unlock the Taskbar FIRST. Right-click on a clear area of
the Taskbar, and choose "Unlock Taskbar" from the popup menu. When you do
that, a thin line will appear along the top edge of the task bar.

Move the mouse pointer there, until the mouse pointer turns into a
double-headed arrow. Then press and hold the left mouse button down and
drag downward until the Taskbar shrinks to the size you want it.

Once you have the Taskbar the size you want it, Right-click once more on a
clear area of the Taskbar and choose "Lock Taskbar" from the popup menu.
