I'm using a PST locally. Does any one know why when I'm
deleting messages from my inbox, when I check the property
size of the mail box from the properties windows it shows
for exemple 5 mg. But When I check the file size of the
PST file on my hard disk the size it shows 7MB, the size
does not change at all.

any clue???

I think the .pst file has a different format and folder
size in Outlook 2003. It is covered in MS Knowledge Base
Article 830336. Outlook 2003 .pst files are in the
UNICODE format but earlier versions of Outlook do not
suport the UNICODE format.

Have you been deleting small emails?? Also look to
deleting from sent items etc as this all counts

The file size according to the operating system won't
change unless you compact the PST file after having
deleted messages from it: Tools --> Services --> Personal
Folders properties --> Compact Now.
