Size of "help file" text

Where do the MS programs get the default value for the text used in "help"
messages. I'm trying to help a lady with an old WIN 98SE, WORD2000 system and
all of a sudden (at least since my last visit) her help messages are appearing
in tiny, tiny type that's broken up and almost impossible to read. Same thing
happens in MS Picture It Express, but not in another program when it calls up
its help messages.

I know that this is an html file (sgml?), so am wondering how the problem could
be fixed. Any suggestions?

You should be able to fix this by selecting the required font size in
Internet Explorer (View > Text Size). The reason for this is that
compiled HTML Help files use certain Internet Explorer components to
display the help topics. In effect, the topic pane of a help file is
an embedded Internet Explorer window.

Another way to change the font size in Internet Explorer is to hold
down the CTRL key while rotating the scrollwheel on the mouse, which
is perhaps how the problem was caused in the first place.
