Hi Everyone, Merry Christmas
In front page when I look at the site summary it shows numerous broken hyper
links.
To cut a long story short when I eventually checked them on the live site,
they all work fine.
Any one know why this is happening?
Thanks
Ged

Isn't it also true that if the external links are checked in a
disk-based Web they will be reported as broken? This might not be
evident to an inexperienced user of FP.

Thanks very much for replying. I'm not a techy so I don't know if there's a
way forward from this. Are there any settings I can adjust. It's just that
it's disconcerting that my summary shows so many broken links. I like things
a bit tidier than that.
Thanks again
Ged

That is only true if there is no internet connection, and the external
links require the Internet connection to be found. (Subwebs are
reported as external, but will be found in disc based webs.)

If you haven't why not open your Web site in FrontPage and then check
the links? With your Internet connection open go to File | Open Site
and at the bottom of the dialogue type the URL in the Site name:
`http://www.mydomain.com/' but of course using the address of your
site. Press the Open button to see your site on-line in FP and create a
report.

Steve,

I understood your point and accept it without reservation. Even more so
as you are expressing it with the authority of an MVP. However from the
OP's messages I formed the view that the links were being checked
off-line. Hence the suggestion I offered.
