I'm trying to put a site search page on my site. I have
tried using the search template and also the search web
component. When you click on the "Search" button, it
gives you the error page 404 object not found. The
address bar says <my site>/_derived/nortbot.htm

Nothing in the knowledgebase, other bots and frontpage
extensions work. Tried recalculating hyperlinks,
nothing. Can't get squat from MS. I found a description
on the web of a bug in Frontpage 98 that matches
perfectly -- except that the fix doesn't work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It normally indicates the FP server extensions are not installed or properly
configured.
Please post to us your URL so we can take a look.

Thanks, Tom. Have a look and let me know what you think.

I did contact the host, parcom, about this and they felt
things were set up properly on their end. They are
running the latest stuff and have thousands of customers,
so it was hard to argue the point.

P.S. I did run the server health thing and it said all
was well. Would that be apt to catch this type of
problem if it was host configuration?

Note: The FP extensions are unique to each web site/account, so because they
work on other sites/accounts on the same server, doesn't mean that there
can't be a problem with the configuration for your account.

Ask you host to run a check on the extensions and/or check the permissions
for your account to access the FP components.

Also have you ever used FTP to upload content to this site, if so the host
may need to re-install the FP extensions.
