Site replication

I have a few computers in a remote site that are part of the domain, and
their own site. Will these clients only receive group policy updates when
replication according to site links occur?

That is, if they are set to refresh group policy every 30mins, but the site
link replicates every hour, when do they get their refresh?

the replication schedule and interval determines when DCs exchange
information information when they are in their own site and those two sites
are connected by a site link

the group policy refresh interval determines at what moment computers
refresh their GPOs settings. No matter what the replication schedule is the
computers will retrieve the GPOs and their settings through the refresh
interval

Thanks, should have mentioned that there are no DCs in their site..the DCs
are in the other site.

Is this still the same answer, i.e. will the remote site refresh policies
even though outside replication schedule?

You don't want to define a site without a dc. If there is no dc in it you
should remove the site and place the sub-nets in the default first site.

Well, with that thought I guess you are correct, but... clients in this site
that attempt to authenticate to a dc are going to attempt to find one in
this site first. I have seen other problems, but technically you are
correct.
