Hi

I had a network between my pc and notebook - no router - just cross over
cable - and I foolishly disabled it. Now I am having trouble reconnecting
the system.

I have tried the network wizard and this hasnt worked. I may have switched
cables from a cross over cable to a standard cable by mistake, and I am not
sure which is which now. I also cant remember whether to use static or
dynamic ip addresses.

Any one know of a simple to follow site that can explain this to me? If you
can also direct me in my set up that would be appreciated too.

Thanks

Doug

If the cable is yellow, it is probably a cross over cable. You something to
assign an address to use a dynamic one, so you probably need a static
address.

For the cables: Look at the connector ends very carefully. You should be
able to see the internal colored plastic on each wire in the bundle. A pass
through cable will show the same order of wires on both ends. Crossover
cable will be different on each end.
