I've checked the SiS web site frequently - still no update of
SiS650/SiS740
Chipset, driver update provided through Microsoft didn't work. My
problem-Vista Home Basic won't allow me to change my screen size from 15"
to
full 17.5" that my monitor is suppose to be. I have a 17.5" widescreen
LCD
monitor and should be able to choose a different screen resolution, but it
won't allow me to make any changes except even smaller.
Since only the squeeky wheel gets greased I'm posting every where I can.
My
last resort is a new graphics card, but I hate to put more money into this
machine - a four year old Sony PCV-W600G. I've used it as a family PC and
upstairs TV/DVD monitor, which is the main reason that I want the
widescreen
capacity back.
With SiS being so unresponsive any hope that Microsoft will fix the
driver?

Microsoft publishes drivers as submitted by the hardware manufacturer, so
your real complaint would be with SiS for submitting them to Microsoft.
Anyway, have you checked the SiS web site for updates or newer drivers?
