Single SATA drive and RAID Controller on A7N8X-E Deluxe

New PC arrived today with A7N8X-E Deluxe m/b and one 80GB SATA HDD. Windows
XP Home was pre-installed. Noticed in device manager the RAID Controller
had a '?' over it - updated the driver from Microsoft website. Went to
re-boot system, and it went thru' initial boot up OK but when it gets to the
little green barrols shooting across the screen under the Windows XP logo -
it goes for ages and then just stops. System completely halts and I have to
reset to boot. On re-boot, loaded on last known working configeration and
everything is OK, except - again no RAID Controller.

Have tried to do the boot from Win XP CD, F6, press 'S', load RAID
controller driver from floppy business, but still not fixed.

Any clues anyone?

PS - Just updated BIOS to 1008. Made no difference what-so-ever. Not that
I was expecting anything.
