Hi!

My domain OFVAB is running in windows 2000 mixed mode (Windows 2000 server)
There is only one server in the domain, this server is the DC.

Is this a single label domain name?
How can i change this?

What till happen if I choose raise to Native 2000 mode, maybe it will let me
to enter a full domain name like OFVAB.COM???

Help!

Yes.

You can't.

(For now at least since only NT and Win2003
can rename domains.)

If you have just done the upgrade or are otherwise
willing to return to NT4 you can reperform the
upgrade and name the domain properly this time.

No. It will only remove the (return to) NT4 option.

Google this for starters:

[ "SINGLE LABEL" domain names DNS 2000 | 2003 microsoft: ]

It is a single-label name, is it the name seen in ADU&C?
If it is the only fix is to upgrade to Win2k3 and rename, or add an NT4 BDC,
elevate the BDC to PDC, upgrade to Win23k and change the DNS name when the
Active Directory installation wizard starts. Demote the other DC, then
dcpromo it as a replica for the DC you upgraded from NT4.
