Since Patch, IE opens two windows, one blank, one with content

This may be patch related or that may be coinkidink but since then every time
I shift lick a link it opens two windows. When i type an address in the
address bar and press enter it opens it in another window.

Any Ideas as to why or how to fix any one?

What patch - where - when - for what prog????????????

First thanks for the reply.

Yes mine was not a particular helpful post was it. But actually all I was
hoping for was if anyone else had this behaviour, the behaviour in itself is
an idicator of a problem, you don't need to get down and dirty with os, and
all installed software and patches for every single problem.

If this was a patch issue (regardles off which one) then this could have
started a bunch of me, too's in which case it would be a patch issue and
collectively we could solve an issue, as there is nothing then Im content to
just take it as one of those weird problems that occur now and again and I'm
going to pave my machine.

Thanks so much if you were intending to help and analyse all the patches and
installed software but I can rebuild faster than exploring all the different
avenues, a little selfish for the community I know, but then it looks like
its just me anyhow.
 
If it is a recent patch from this Black Tuesday then there is a good chance
you are not alone - only a visit to windowsupdate newsgroup will tell you.
But have the offending KB number and any error messages to hand
