since downloading display update desktop icons return to default?

Hi
Since recently downloading an update NVIDIA display settings from windows my customised desktop icons cannot be saved, the default icons load up in desktop settings on re-boot?
 
roll back the driver update?

This might help you, it was posted by Craig in alt.os.windows-xp:


"For those of us who have been experiencing the issue of the 'My
Computer, Recycle Bin, etc, icons changing back to the default icons
after reboot, I think I may have found a solution to this problem...at
least for my specific situation. Maybe this will help others too.

If you have an Nvidia card, take a look at the services and set the
"Nvidia Display Driver Helper" or the "Nvidia Display Driver Service"
to manual. From what I understand, this is similar to MS error
reporting. If you are concerned about your NView features not working
(if you use it like I do), have no fear, this did not have any effect
on mine."
