Simultaneos incoming VPN requests

Adam

I'm not sure if I'm posting to the correct newsgroup and if not I
appologize, but I couldn't find one that was really appropriate.

I have set up a XP Pro to work as a VPN server (the VPN server which comes
with XP) so which I can recieve incoming connection requests. My problem
though is that I have only been able to have one incoming VPN session at the
time. When a client tries to connect while another client is already
connected it gets "Error 937: Because another connection of your type is in
use, the incoming connection cannot accept your incoming request". Is there
a way to make the VPN server accept more than one simultaneos connections?

I know that the built-in VPN server is not to prefer for many reason, but
unfortunately in this situation I don't have any other options.

Any help or pointers are highly appreciated.

Thx in advance

/Adam

You would need a firewall/router that can act as a VPN endpoint for multiple connections. Something
like a Linksys BEFVP41 or a Zywall 10 for example. XP still only accepts one VPN incoming connection
at a time...

*No, XP will only accept one VPN connection at a time.

For more than that you need a server class environment like Window
2003 Server, etc.

Hi,

I know this thread is somewhat old but I have the same problem an
wondered why if XP only supports one VPN connection at a time, why i
it that you can allocate a specific IP range for the incommin
connection(s)? Wouldn't that infer that it's supports multipl
conncections.

Guys,
How do you set up your firewall/router to act as a VPN endpoint for
multiple connections? I have a Dl-624. I already open a port 1723 for
passthrough for the VPN connection? What would be the next step for
multiple connection?
Thanks,
Hoang Hao

Is the DI-624 a VPN end-point router? If not and you connecting to an XP box
acting as a PPTP VPN server then your out of luck. XP only accepts one
incoming PPTP VPN connection at a time.
