Sims 2 Windows Vista

My Sims 2 game will not work. When I first used it it told me I needed a
patch from the maxis website, so I downloaded it. When I start the game now
it freezes at the beginning where it says Sims 2.

My computer is a Gateway with Windows Home Vista Premium.
It has a AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz
Memory RAM 1919 MB
32 bit operating system
Nvidia Geforce 6150SE video card
320 GB Sata ll Hard drive

INstalled as Administrator?
When I start the game now
it freezes at the beginning where it says Sims 2.

Meaning to use the highest security level to execute the program.
Right click the EXE, properties. Tick "Run As Administrator".
