I have SIMS2 (and several expansion packs) installed to an Iomega external
hard drive. When installed, the drive was designated drive F:. However, for
unknown reasons, the drive changes to drive G: rendering all Desktop
shortcuts unusable. Not only that, when you try to play the game from the
"All Programs" button, that is, skipping the shortcuts, the computer reports
that some SIMS2 files have been deleted, requiring a re-install of the
program (and it takes quite a while).
Help!!!

You can change the drive letter back to F: (for example) by going to Control
Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management.
