This voting process for the Pricelessware slogan shouldn't be as
complicated as it currently is. There are currently 3 proposals at the
moment.
1. Original Slogan:
"The best of the best in Windows© Freeware as
determined by the readers of alt.comp.freeware."
2. Revised Slogan Proposal:
"The best of the best in Freeware for Windows©
(and other OS) as determined by the readers of alt.comp.freeware."
3. Preferred Proposal of some of the ACF members:
"The best of the best in Freeware as determined by the readers of
alt.comp.freeware."
Why not re-start the vote with these 3 choices and the most voted
choice wins? Or just count the votes already given?
It really makes no sense to pit choice 1 vs 2 then have the winner
take on choice 3. As it stands now choice 3 appears to be the most
popular.
I also vote for choice 3.
"The best of the best in Freeware as determined by the readers of
alt.comp.freeware."
Look at it this way, even if choice 1 was to win over choice 2.
The people voting for choice 2, will vote for choice 3, if pitted
against choice 1.
In my opinion I believe choice 3 to be the most logical. Linux is more
popular now, then back when the original Pricelessware slogan was
created. There are many more programs available for Linux users.
There are already some Linux applications listed on the Pricelessware
list, and will only get bigger as time goes on.
The only option that I can see is to have two Pricelessware lists.
one for Windows, and one for Linux. However, I would imagine that
managing two lists would be a lot more work.
