I made a share for some users with three folders. All the users can
access the folders that I created. However, when one of the users
creates a folder it is not accessible to anyone else. Any ideas?

Are you talking about a single machine? Networked machines?
A windows domain? A server? Active directory?

Sorry, it was on my SBS 2000 network. It seemed that the user that made
the folders had the exclusive right to view and modify. What I did was
to give permission to the other folks in the department to view and
modify. I made the child objects inherit the permissions. (I think
that's what it was). I'm still learning this stuff...

Is there a straight forward book on Windows 2000 networking tasks that
you would recommend? Preferably for someone who's not the sharpest
knife in the drawer.

As you found out, inheritance is the answer to your problem.

The book "Microsoft Windows Business Server 2003"
(Administrator's Companion) by Charlie Russell, Sharon
Crawford and Jason Gerend, Microsoft Press, 2004,
ISBN 0-7356-2020-2 would be an excellent starting point
for your studies. Most of its topics apply to SBS 2000 too.
