When I ping "computer.externaldomain.com.tw"
I get a response from "DC.internaldomain.com"
DNS is clear and not showing any records in association
with "externaldomain".
HOSTS is clear (as well as LMHOSTS, shouldn't matter)
WINS is clear as well (Shouldn't matter)
When I use Nbtstat to see what names were resolved via
broadcast. "externaldomain" is not showing.
I've cleared the DNS cache on both DNS servers.
I've configured HOSTS files on both servers that point to
the correct IP address for "computer.externaldomain.com.tw"
I've flushed and reregistered the local DNS cache on the
clients and still it is retarded.
I think it has something to do with the extra level ".tw"
but I can't figure it out. About ready to open a trouble
ticket unless there is a hero out there that can solve
this.
