something small, easy to use, with nice interface.

I need this mostly for my university, because I'm a student.

I don't know if this counts as freeware or not, but it IS free for the
download. PALM Desktop v4, I don't recall there being any requirements to
actually have a Palm based product. Or any checking that they do.

It's getting better, I would say it's better (and simpler) than Outlook for
the day to day organizing, but I wouldn't say it's as good as Lotus
Organizer, but then again, it is free. Of course it lacks some of the
more -- what's the word? -- esoteric features of those two products, but it
is a pretty good free organizer.

Hello,
That link now leads to a different product, a tax organiser
for UK residents. Not much use no people who live elsewhere.
Any other good freeware PIMs around?

"Digita Organizer by Digita.com" ??

Link works:
http://yahoo.digita.com/taxcentral/home/taxorganiser/default.asp

Yes it's called "Digita Tax Organiser" there, but it's still
the same little program, a PIM, very rolodex like, nice...

But why the "yahoo" in the url? Works with www as well:
http://www.digita.com/taxcentral/home/taxorganiser/default.asp

Regards,
Thorsten

15 Mb download! That does not sound like a simple PIM to me.

I suggest XDesk95 (pricelessware).

"A very easy and friendly organizer and PIM, with complete time and
data management features. It remains active in the system tray with a
display of the current date. It provides a combined schedular
displayed as a Calendar, a Diary and an Alarm Clock. Anniversaries,
cancelled events and completed events are supported. The alarms are
(optionally) audible with a post-it style note on the desktop. The
program also has a Hierarchial Notes Tree that is similar to a
directory structure. Each "page" can either be normal text or a
sortable data table. Automated Phone Dialing is supported. IT can be
your address books, to-do lists, project information; or to handy any
data in any format you prefer. The program comes with a
Scientific/Engineering Calculator."

You're right, of course! I got a cable modem about a year and a half ago
and I've gotten out of the habit of checking file size. (That's a luxury I
can't begin to describe!) Desktop 4 is still pretty cool though, especially
compared to previous versions.

No, no -- the Digita docs *say* it's a tax organizer, but it *is* a real
PIM. Try it and see.
