I have a friend from China and we want to do pc to pc calls. Anyone know of
software we could use to talk with our voices that is really easy to use?
She doesn't know much about computers so it has to be easy. MSN messenger
worked, but it doesn't seem to work now. Also, icq pc to pc calls don't
seem to work either.

Thanks for you guys who suggested this. We figured out how to get MSN to
work again for her. I'll try this out if she has problems in the future.
Do you guys use this software often?

Honestly, I've yet to try it. I read everything I could find on it and it
sounds interesting, I've installed it, but I haven't actually passed audio
through it.

I use this http://rogerwilco.gamespy.com/ for playing games with "the
guys", it's small and has great sound quality.

"RW Mark I.d Rev 3!

Mark Id is first release of a new GameSpy-infused Roger Wilco!"

No clue what GameSpy is but the product sounds like adware unless one
pays for a "subscription" or gets the shareware product.

You're right John, I was wrong, I should have looked closer, but I
didn't.
I did a simple Google-search for the site without realy looking at it,
but the once so great Roger Wilco turned shareware. It used to be
demoware or registerware, quote from the site I got it from:

http://www.fwnetwork.com/description/rogerwilco.html

"Please note: Roger Wilco is free, but you must register for a license
key to unlock its full functionality. Prior to registration, Roger
Wilco operates in a demo mode, which restricts you to 15 minutes spent
on a single tuning. Registration is free. You can register Roger Wilco
either by clicking the Get License Key button on the License tab, or
by visiting the registration page."

But that dl-link is dead, so my previous post was incorrect, my
apologies, don't go for Roger Wilco, unless you can still find an
older version somewhere. Too bad, great peace of software it was.

Yahelite chat - voice chat - not an IM but it's a handy workaround, no
frills, no ads. (And if you fall out, try to find a new best friend who
lives within shouting distance - China isn't (unless you're somewhere
like North Korea)
I don't know if it's been updated recently, but my years-old copy worked
fine last month
