ok here it is, I have a desktop running win98, and a new
laptop running winXP with a wireless connection. The
laptop is wirelessly connected to the Broadband router
and the desktop is hardwired to the router. The laptop
can make wireless connections to the internet but cannot
file or print share with the desktop. From the desktop I
do have access to shared file on the laptop but not the
other way around. Anyone know what may cause the desktop
to not allow access when the laptop does? The 2
computers can ping each other and have no problems
communicating on that level, but WinXP says the Laptop
does not have permissions to access files or printers on
the Desktop.

Hopefully someone knows what im going through.
Thanks everyone
Ryan

can they ping each other by name? also what do you get if using net view
\\xpname from win98?
