I am attempting to set up a 2 PC work group at my home.
Both PC's are running XP. I can ping from host to
client, however I am unable to ping from client to host.
When I go to Network Places on my client I can see the
host, but I do not have access to it. When I run "repair
connection" I get unable to repair IP. I am sure it is a
simple problem so please bear with me as I crawl through
my first work group setup. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you to Steve Winograd!! Now my PC's are talking.
I used your answer posted with "workgroup problems".
Now my only issue is internet sharing. I access the web
fine on the host, however I can not touch the web from my
client. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

You're welcome, Mike. Here are some tests to see what the problem is
with ICS on the client:

1. On the host, right click the local area network connection and
click Status | Support | Details. It should show:

IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: none
DNS Server = none

2. On the client, right click the local area network connection and
click Status | Support | Details. It should show:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1

3. If #1 and #2 are right, open a command prompt window on the client
and enter these lines. Each one should get four replies:

ping 192.168.0.1
ping 216.239.39.100
ping www.google.com

4. If #1-#3 are right, enter these addresses in Internet Explorer on
the client. They should both take you to the Google web page:

http://216.239.39.100
http://www.google.com

This web page should also help:
