Simple (I thought) subreports

I have two reports that work just fine. They are summarizing detail records
from two different tables. I would like to put them on the same report.
Generally, both of them on the same report would just take one page. There
is no data relationship necessary between the two. I tried just dropping
them as a subreport in the detail of a report. But the report comes out
with a blank detail section. I tried making up another table that does have
a common value in it that shows up on both reports and make that the linking
field. But, regardless, the report comes out with a blank detail. I'm sure
there's a simple way to do this.

That's what I originally tried. The subreport runs fine when I run it as a
standalone report. So I thought I could leave the record source blank for
the main report, put the subreport in the detail with no linking fields and
it would print the subreport in the detail of the main report. What I get
is a blank report, except for the labels I have in the header and footer of
the main report. I even took everything off the main report except for one
subreport, just to see if it would work. But I get a single completely
blank page when I do that.

That's what I thought I was trying. The main report has no record source
and contains nothing but a subreport that has no linking fields. The
subreport works fine when run as a main report. I'm just trying to get two
sub reports that work correctly to print on the same page. But the report
that has the subreport in the Detail comes out a single completely blank
page.

Your reports should work the way you have them set up. If you can't get this
worked out, I would be willing to accept a file from you but email me
privately if you want and I will explain how to send a file to me.
