I'm just an Excel novice and need some quick help.

I am trying to take a column of 35 numbers (say B2 through
B36) and multiply each number by a corresponding percentage
in another column (G2 through G36) and then have a sum
total of all of those calculations.

Is there a simple way of doing this formula?

Hi MattC

Try:

=SUMPRODUCT(B2:B36,G2:G36)

Worked like a charm, Norman. Thanks for the help and Happy
New Year! By the way, I caught the highlights of the
Sydney New Year's celebration on TV. Quite spectacular.

Hi MattC!

Good to see it works OK for you.

You might have spotted me in the crowd in Sydney. I was the one who
had a little too much to drink!

See you around the newsgroups

Norman,

You couldn't have been in that crowd. I distinctly remember
buying you a drink in Times Square on New Years Eve!!!

John

Hi John!

You forgot the time difference between Sydney and New York and I can
move pretty fast when there's a drink on offer.

Norman,

It wasn't you?!?!?!
I was swindled!!!!!
I distinctly remember the conversation......
I was in Times Square with my monogrammed pool league jacket
on and this guy came up to me and said "Hi John". Since I was
too inebriated to read my own monogram, I figured this guy couldn't
either so he must have really known who I was.
He said "Yeah..I know you...we've met on-line"
I said "Wha (urp) re, in da' neusgrwuups"
He said "yeah, sure!!!"
I said "Ehhhksell"
He said "Yeah, that's the one. Don't you remember me??"
I said "noooop, whash yore name."
He said "Take a guess"
I said "I dunno'.....Nooooorman????"
He said "Yep"
I said "Ha....a....a....a...rker????"
He said "That's me"
I was totally convinced!!!!!
So I bought him a drink.......
You can't trust anyone in New York.

Have a Happy New year!!!!!!

John

This sounds a bit like Robin Williams movie clip on
drinking and golf (and those who claim to have invented
the sport(s)). I remember offering Norman OBAN for a
timely solution to a problem but he never showed up! It
was +35C in Syndey and -35C in Winnipeg, you think maybe
that is why? e must have been elsewhere!

Hi Don!

Just because I'm always there when you open the Old Turkey!
