Win XP Pro SP2

In Explorer I decided to install the Simple Chinese font to display a site.
The install asked for the XP CD but could not find the files. Discovered
files with last letter of extension set to underscore eg abc.nl_

Some similar files existed in Windows/System32, but not the exact ones
needed.

How are files extracted off the CD but with the names complete?

OK I'll ignore it, but if you do that again I'll jump up and down and stamp
my feet ... :-))

Hoever ... if there's any advice going about the the .nl_ files I would be
most interested.

I suspect that the installation process renames the files, and that the way
I installed XP didn't install all the files, but I haven't a clue why not,
and what I'd do to coax it into installing them.

I tried copying the files and renaming them one by one but that was going to
be a long process, so I only got so far. I suppose I could have tried
writing a bit of dos to rename them all.

I stopped the language installation process and then I had the worry whether
XP would lock up saying, "Well you've mucked about with an instal, half
completed it, and not provided me with all the files, so screw you mate, I'm
going to sulk and refuse to boot, and then I'll delete some really important
files, and then corrupt this and that, and ..." but it didn't, it just
carried on as though I'd not fiddled at all.

Apart from this issue XP runs very well. In fact it's really quite amazing
compared with earlier versions.
