Pricelessware lists Calendar Magic but that's too feature rich and
complicated for what I want. Other than the Windows Time/Date Properties
applet what do you use?

What do you want?

I use Effective Desktop's calendar add on thingy that gives a date
number on the taskbar, which, when clicked on, gives a couple of months
basic calendar display.

Or look at UK's Kalender

Program: Past, Present & Future
Author: (Bob Dolan)
Install: n.i.

A convenient 3 month calendar view. This program is a 32 bit utility
that provides you with a 3 month view around the current date and is
simple to use.

I like this little app - can't find it anywhere on the web (author's
site is dead). I've uploaded a copy temporarily to PWH in the hope that
someone will add it to their web site. This is version 1.1 - AFAIK it's
the LFW. Get it here:

Thank you, that's what I was looking for.

Rainlendar

Overview :

Rainlendar is a very customizable calendar that resides on your desktop
and shows the days of the current month. The application is a Litestep
plugin, but it can be used without the Litestep as well. You can use it
even with the normal Explorer-shell if you like. The calendar can be
customized to fit your taste (and theme). You can use different fonts
and colors, select the background image or just use copy of the current
wallpaper.

You might also look at PhotoPrintCalendar. It's a month to a page calendar
which allows you to add a graphic, with various option for layout.
Note: It says only tested on Canon Bubble Jet but I found it works OK on
Epson and HP Inkjets, and probably on others.

Yes, I'm using it with a Samsung laser printer, and it works great.
