Hi all.
For my thesis work I need a very simple and freeware 3D CAD.
I have to model simple geometries, probably made up of parallelepipeds
and other basic solids. The important thing should be the possibility
to rotate the objects and to display both wireframe and plain
surfaces. Can anyone help me?

Most of the 3D apps that have been mentioned in ACF are listed here (3D
apps are at the top of the page):

Wings3D is quite good, although it's more of a 3D modeller than a CAD
environment (well, there is a difference, no?).

Blender is another alternative that's quite popular in the open
source/freeware world, but it has a reputation of being less intuitive to
use. Then again, it is at least as powerful as Wings3D.

Let us know when you have found a decent alternative.

Wald
