Do you know what graphics card you've got, that will be the first step in
knowing if there's a newer driver.

If you're not sure how to find out check out this page
http://windows.dasmirnov.net/guides/hardware.php if you post back here with
what you've got someone will point you in the right direction for drivers.

ok I checked all that and I am gonna tell you everything
Intel(r)
Pentium
4cpu
2.40ghz -2.4hz
memory 480mb ram
direct x version 9.0

name SIS 651
Maunfacter SIS
total memory 32.0

I think I might just try to return the game, this is giving me a headache

I also downloaded Nvidia Geforce 6800

Unfortunately the SIS chip is unsupported by the Sims 2. You may or may not
have any luck with it at all unless you get a new graphics card. So
returning may be the only solution.

The latest drivers can be downloaded from;

http://download.sis.com/agreement.php?id=155811 however your computer
manufacturer (HP, Dell whatever) may have their own graphics drivers too.
