Silly me - fried external hard drive????

Hello

Yes i stupidly connected the wrong power supply to my external hard drive and now it wont switch on when the correct one is connected!!!

Have i fried it. the proper one is 12v and the wrong one i connected is 19v. i really need the data on it - can anyone suggest what i can do

Chances are the HD is fine.
Open up the external casing, remove HD and refit to another external case - or add directly to a Desktop PC...
Voila! Your data is... yours again.
