Silicon Valley stores?

I recently moved to the Silicon Valley area, so I know little about
the computer stores here. I went to Fry's Electronics last week and
realized that everything was about $20 more than I could get from
newegg.com. I knew it would be more expensive, but the difference
seemed too big for me (e.g., 2.8 GHz P4 for $200 instead of $180;
CD-RW/DVD for $80 instead of $50; 512 MB memory for $100 instead of
$80.)

What good stores are there in the Silicon Valley with reasonable
prices?

Central Computer in Santa Clara is priced slightly below Fry's. But in
comparing online NewEgg with brick-and-mortar Fry's is not realistic.
Buying in a store is ALWAYS more than online.

ya they are fairly low priced compared to other retail stores, and they have
more. They are less then Best Buy.

P.SI am not saying anything about bestbuy i live exactly 145.54mi from the
nearest frys electronics, and newegg i really don't use for small purchases.
So i buy ram and things of that caliber from best buy

Sometimes you just need it NOW and not UPS. Being the tinkering sort,
I haunt a number of places, depending on what the mad scientist's lab
is cooking up at the time. Too often I'll be seeking a certain widget
when something else catches my eye and starts another crazy project.

Fry's - well, I watch the ads in the Murky News for sales.

One mentioned Central Computer - http://www.centralcomputer.com/ - a
great small chain with up to date prices online.

I also like Pixel USA - http://www.pixelusa.com/ - if the price is
within reason I'll buy there, based on the friendly service and
knowledgable staff. Never a hassle when something needs a return. Also
up to date prices online.

A few bargain spots - buyer beware - not always pretty or generous
with returns.

Weird Stuff - http://www.weirdstuff.com/ Surplus compu junk and so
forth.

Surplus Computers - http://www.softwareandstuff.com/index.html - love
the parking lot sales.

Action Surplus - http://www.actionsurplus.com/ - not much on the web
site, but a store jam packed with stuff. I go there for cables and
hardware things, they have it in bulk bins, no packaging to pay extra
for. The little strip mall they are in also houses a hard disk
specialty store - http://www.diskdepot.com/ and Ham Radio Outlet -
http://www.hamradio.com/

Down the street is HSC - http://www.hsces.com/store/index.html - more
electronics than computers.

JDR Outlet - http://www.jdr.com/about/catalogoutlet.asp , check the
refurbished list - http://www.jdr.com/refurbish/refurb.htm for things
you may want.

Excess Solutions - http://www.excess-solutions.com/main.htm never
been there - yet.
