Hello:

IO need to do an install to aabout 100 machines and was
wondering if anybody has the switches to perform a silent
install on the spyware setup.exe file?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Would similarly like to install this software across a SBS2000 network. Are
there instructions somewhere that explains how to install silently across a
network with preset settings.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Chris,
At this time, there has been no announcement pro/con of an Enterprise
version of the software.
Nothing much on switches, and you really may not want it in a domain at this
time. Scripts from the Net Admins can be blocked with it at the present
time.

I agree, with the other comments. At this time, there is
no way I would consider a total rollout of this product,
however, I will admit, the reason I'm looking is for a
method of doing the same, but only for preparation of a
mass install. I'm sure there will be an MSI file that
will allow you to "push" mandatory install, but you
should at minimum wait until version 1.0, or better yet,
1.x (something higher than zero). This really is good
advise, even though your totally happy with the product
as it is now. The product is BETA and will stop working,
which will require a new installation.

If you search this group, this has been discussed a number of times, but
with no clear cut result. Early on in the beta there was a .RU poster who
said that he had a script working to deploy the app, but looking at the
script required registering at his site, and I didn't do that, nor did I see
anyone else say--yes that works!

You can unpack the download executable with the -a switch, as I recall, to
get an MSI and two or three subdirs of "stuff." However, a number of folks
who tried the appropriate switches to do a silent install found that the
installed product didn't work--error 101, as I recall.

I really don't recommend spending too much time on this--this product isn't
designed for this usage, and when a version that is becomes available, it'll
be properly documented.

OTOH, if somebody does solve the puzzle, I'd be glad to publicize it, make
sure it gets in the FAQ, etc!
